If there is anything we have learned from meeting someone you love, it is that love becomes a choice. You voluntarily choose them every second, every hour of the day.
Knowing each other for more than half of their lives, Robert and Bhing had known each since 2004. What started off as a wonderful friendship turned into a beautiful relationship that is nothing short of ups and down. They were seatmates during their 1st year in highschool where they bond over online games. For almost 3 years, Bhing’s relationship with Robert wasn’t really a priority for the fact that they are still in highschool. So she broke up with him after their graduation.
They met various individuals and chose separate routes in college after they broke up. But fate wanted something else for the both of them. They stumbled across each other unexpectedly in 2010 and tried to mend things between them to start trying again. They were given a second chance but they haven’t found their solid foundation yet with each other so they broke up again after 2 years of being together. ” This is the final nail in the coffin ” Bhing thought to herself after Robert decided to break up with her this time.
Little moments make the big picture, but it takes the right circumstances all coming together to make magic happen. And even with all our efforts as humans, there are a thousand and one reasons for things to fail and not work out, and just one moment for the stars to align, where you find yourself set up in the right place, at the right time. And that’s where fate set them up again for the third time. Since then, they started working on building a solid foundation. It may have took countless arguments, constantly become a work in progress, and several break ups, but what’s the point of building something without failing right? Since then, they’ve worked out their differences and communicated with each other more which makes them grateful for the lessons from their mistakes and became mature with each other. They chose to love each other despite how afraid their heart is. They chose to let each other in regardless of what their past has taught them. They chose to place my heart in each other’s hands and hoping they won’t break it. They chose to trust that each other that they will remain loyal and that they will not intentionally hurt each other.
Fairytales and storybooks have got it all wrong. We are often taught that love is a feeling, but feelings are fleeting and unreliable. Feelings are not a true source of support for you or your partner. A relationship cannot be defined by something as unpredictable as your feelings or your emotions in the moment.
