Almost all love stories begin with a guy meeting a girl and the two falling in love. But for Josh and Christine who met together as friends first, it felt more like fate or a happy accident, as if God had already intended for them to meet. Despite having different plans and purposes, they somehow ended at the same place of love and contentment.
As the years went by, Josh and Christine developed into much more than just block mates. We constantly find ourselves caught between reality and our ambitions. Christine’s goal was to get that medical degree, while Josh was drawn to someone else, and she even ended up being their bridge, but gratefully things didn’t work out, and it felt like the universe’s way of showing them that they are the ones who are destined to be together. It’s a lovely feeling to go from buddies to lovers, because you already care about one other, the relationship has a great deal of promise.
12 years later, it still feels like they just decided to be together. The only change has been that it has grown even better. Their 12-year relationship was easy not because they never squabbled, but rather because they consistently made the decision to work on their relationship despite the challenges they would encounter as individuals or as a couple and accepted each other’s weaknesses and imperfections. True, some of the greatest love tales began as ordinary friendships.
